Who We Are

At Casa Esperanza,

We Know

that injustice created disenfranchised communities. And that the lived experiences of these communities are negatively affected by systems of oppression embedded in almost all aspects of life.

We Believe

that we can create a just present for disenfranchised communities by explicitly challenging systems of oppression and engaging in DEIJ work that seeks to uplift the human spirit.

We Work

with the principles of DEIJ in our research, work culture, patient treatment, mission, and values to dismantle social systems built around racism, oppression, and domination.

We Acknowledge

that the work towards a socially just institution requires brave conversations and actions to create“positive peace”.

We Commit

to not shy away from difficult conversations and to work towards creating just systems within our institution and to bring this work with us to our external partners.
